I love this set. Pale blue and cream, especially with lace, always gives major Marie Antoinette vibes. The blue is silk and the cream is sheer lace with small tulle trim. The fit on this is impeccable, as is the shape and support it provides for such a fabric. It’s just a great cut on me personally, I suppose, and an unlined sheer underwire is my favorite style. And even though I usually prefer a brief, this thong is great! Very comfortable and not at all annoying. Both the bra and thong have ruched straps and that is another detail I love in general. Conventional 2 hook, 3 length adjustor at the back of the bra and adjustable straps. I particularly love the small gems on the lace, which, being so tiny and fine, are an example of this detail done well. It so often is not. I can’t find fault with this set, I really can’t. I just adore it.
Morning Dew Haute Bra and Brief. Will I ever stop lamenting the loss of the Carol Malony labels? Doubtful. Every CM set I’ve worn is exceptional in design and quality. Designs that were always quirky, girlie, a little bit humorous and very special. They were unapolgetically, thrillingly feminine and this style is no exception. The perfect shade of baby pink silk, the balconette bra fits like a dream and is incredibly comfortable for something so beautiful. Both the back band of said bra and the bikini brief are trimmed in crystal emblazoned ruffles. These crystals even form a huge star pattern on the back of the but and mean the ruffles sit beautifully due to their weight. Testament to the quality is the fact none of these sparklers have fallen on off. The bra creates an incredible shape, gorgeous cleavage that is lifted, but not overpowering and not padded. In spite of all these stunning details (CM is not one for the minimalists, in case you can’t tell), perhaps the most awesome detail is one the actual cups- 3 dimensional, sewn, silk tulle rosettes. The texture is intricate, wonderful to the touch and I’ve never seen anything quite like it on lingerie, at least not at this density. The effect is like artwork. This set is an homage to my inner ultra-femme showgirl and makes me feel like a modern goddess.
CarolMalony Haute ‘Barely There’ Bra and Thong. Before nude illusion was a big thing, before Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian appeared almost-naked at the Met Gala, before floral applique bralets were EVERYWHERE, there was this style by Carol Maloney Haute, a label that has continually proved itself to be ahead of its time. This is a fine, beige mesh, half-cup underwire bra, with a very delicate black lace encased within an an outer and inner layer of said mesh: VERY cool. There are also swarovski crystals encased in the back band, appearing to swim in the fabric and on the body. A truly unique and very creative design! As I find with all Carol Malony bras, the fit is perfect for me personally and super comortable. It also gives an amazing amount of support and lift for such a sheer and unpadded bra, which I think is down to that great fit and construction. The thong is basically the only style of thong I like- a simple, mid-rise string. Again, with the sheer black lace inside the delicate, sheer beige mesh. The neon orange straps I really love. They give just enough of the high-end quirk that Carol Malony Haute was known for and their rhinestone details keep it pretty. Every time I wear any of my Carol Malony sets, I wish so much the label still existed, they nailed quirky, sexy, glam and are one of the most lusted-after, cult labels lingerie junkies are always on the lookout for!
